Trend arrows and colors

Trend arrows can help you plan and take action to stay in your target range. They estimate the direction in which your blood sugar may be going, based on recent glucose readings. The trend arrow is not a prediction. The color of the glucose value and the direction of the trend arrow provide visual cues:

The trend arrow appears on the Home screen of mySugr Glucose Insights, next to your current glucose value. It estimates the general direction of your glucose, based on the last 15 minutes of CGM readings and updates every 5 minutes.

The trend arrow helps you to:

Understand your current glucose value.
Know the current trend of your glucose.
Respond to developing glucose values.

The glucose prediction graph appears on the Home screen of the mySugr app. The graph uses algorithms which predict your upcoming glucose values for the next 2 hours, based on your CGM readings, logbook data, the time of day, insulin, and carb intake, to help you stay ahead of potential changes.

The prediction graph helps you to:

Understand your future glucose values.
Know when lows might happen.
Act or prepare to prevent glucose excursions.

The Trend Arrow is calculated using your last 15 minutes of CGM data. This is different from the Prediction feature, which considers many variables like your insulin, carbs, and time of day.

Rising quickly

Your glucose value is rising quickly (1.7 mmol/L+ over the next 15 minutes)

Rising slowly

Your glucose value is rising slowly (0.8 -1.7 mmol/L over the next 15 minutes)

Steady

Your glucose value is stable (no change or insignificant change)

Falling slowly

Your glucose value is falling slowly (0.8 -1.7 mmol/L over the next 15 minutes.)

Falling quickly

Your glucose value is falling quickly (1.7 mmol/L over the next 15 minutes)

Colors

Orange - glucose value is very high.

Yellow - glucose value is high.

Green - glucose value is in range.

Red - glucose value is low.

Deep red - glucose value is very low.

- When the CGM value falls outside the device's measuring range (above 22.2 mmol/L or below 2.2 mmol/L), the app will display HI or LO instead of a numerical value.
- In some cases, an increased rate of fluctuations in your levels may need a quick and careful response. Talk to your healthcare provider about your personal diabetes profile and the best ways to manage your condition.
