FAQs

  • Please wash your hands before unpacking the infusion set.
  • Hold the two halves of the coupling so that they form a cross. Fit the parts directly into one another and connect them in place by turning for one quarter of a turn in a clockwise direction until they click noticeably and audibly into place.
  • Connect the luer-lock tubing to a filled cartridge and insert the cartridge into the pump in accordance with the pump manufacturer’s instructions for use.
  • Hold the pump in an upright position and prime the tubing and cannula until insulin emerges at the tip of the steel cannula, ensuring there are no air bubbles in either the cartridge or the tubing of the infusion set.
  • Hold the infusion set firmly between thumb and forefinger at the disc holder. With the other hand, remove the backing paper from the self-adhesive and twist the protective cover off the steel cannula.
  • With your free hand, pinch together a bit of subcutaneous tissue at the chosen site. Insert the infusion set under the skin at a 90° angle. Press the self-adhesive firmly onto the infusion site, ensuring that it makes good contact with the skin. Bend the disc holder slightly sideways and remove it, making sure that the self-adhesive remains flat on the skin.
  • Form a loop to relieve stress and secure it into place with a strip of adhesive plaster.

Please refer to the Accu-Chek Rapid-D Link quick reference guide for more information.

The Accu-Chek Rapid-D Link infusion set is compatible with the Accu-Chek Combo Insulin Pump.

In order to help keep sites free of infection, we recommend that sites be changed at least every 2 days (48 hours) for steel needle sets and every 3 days (72 hours) for soft cannula sets. It is important to always check your blood glucose level 1-3 hours after inserting a new set, to make sure that it's functioning properly.
