Test strips
<p>Yes, as with any test strip, heat, humidity and other environmental conditions can affect strips.  Close the vial immediately after removing a test strip.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meter uses Accu-Chek Instant test strips.</p>
                        <p>The user will receive an E-4 error code.</p>
                        <p>No, there is no ability to squeeze extra blood from the finger to dose a strip a second time.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant system was designed to assist users to easily conduct a test. Several features were designed for this purpose:<br>- Easy-edge test strip has a wide application area compared to leading brands<br>- Strips are placed electrode end down in the vial, so that they can be inserted easily into the meter with minimal handling<br>- The used strip can easily and hygienically be removed from the meter with the strip ejector</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant test strip requires only a small speck of blood (0.6 μL).</p>
                        General questions
<p><strong>Whatever type of Accu-Chek meter you have, cleaning and disinfecting are important for good maintenance.</strong><br>While cleaning is simply removing dirt from the meter, disinfecting refers to removing as much of the disease-causing microorganisms and other germs as possible.</p><p><strong>When to clean or disinfect your Accu-Chek Meter:</strong><br>You should clean and disinfect your meter once a week, or any time blood gets on it. You should also clean your meter before allowing anyone else to handle it.</p><p><strong>What to use when cleaning and disinfecting your Accu-Chek Meter:</strong><br>Use mild dishwashing liquid mixed with water to clean your meter and 70% isopropyl alcohol to disinfect your meter.</p><p><strong>The parts of your Accu-Chek meter you should keep clean:</strong><br>Be sure to clean the areas around slots and openings, while being careful not to get any moisture in them.<br>You should also wipe down the entire meter surface, including the meter display.</p><p>Learn more about cleaning and disinfecting your meter in the user manual.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meters has a fast test time of less than four seconds.</p>
                        <p>No, the USB port for any of the Accu-Chek meters is not water or dust resistant.</p>
                        <p>With the Accu-Chek Instant meter, it is not necessary to delete stored results. Once 720 blood glucose results are in the memory; adding a new result causes the oldest one to be deleted.</p>
                        <p>No. As seen with almost all products designed for self-monitoring, the Accu-Chek Instant meter cannot be used for diagnosis of diabetes.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meters can be used for Alternative Site Testing (AST) on the palm, forearm and upper arm. Please refer to the user manual and speak to your healthcare professional for more information.</p>
                        <p>No, the Accu-Chek Instant meter does not require manual coding.</p>
                        <p>Using an Accu-Chek meter connected to the mySugr app will enable you to automatically and wirelessly capture your blood sugar readings, and store all of your readings and other important diabetes information in one easily accessible place. This could help to make your diabetes management easier.  </p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meter can only pair and synchronise data with one Bluetooth enabled device at a time. Once the meter has been paired, pairing with a new device will overwrite the original pairing.</p>
                        <p>iOS users can pair a maximum of three blood glucose meters. Android devices allow a maximum of one meter to pair.</p>
                        <p>Can I retrieve my data when I reinstall the mySugr app in the new smartphone? When you create your mySugr account, your data is stored with that account in a secure and compliant manner. If you change mobile devices or have to re-install the mySugr app, pair your meter to the app. Data synchronisation with the app happens automatically as soon as the app has connection to the internet, users don’t have to do manual backups.</p>
                        Power
<p>No. Memory is retained. If the battery change is done according to the user instructions (empty battery stays in the meter until new battery is available to be inserted) the time and date settings remain stored in the meter as well.</p>
                        <p>If you suspect your child has swallowed a battery, seek medical attention immediately – prompt action is critical. Don’t wait for symptoms to develop.</p><p>Battery ingestion or insertion into the body may cause chemical burns, perforation of soft tissues, and death. Batteries, as small parts, are a choking hazard. Keep them away from children under the age of 3 years.</p><p>If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.                         <p>Yes, any time the meter is on, the battery is being consumed whether searching for a paired device or uploading results.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meter requires two batteries to power the features of the meter, such as the backlit display and Bluetooth® connectivity.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meter uses two 3-volt lithium coin cell batteries (type CR2032) found in many stores.</p>
                        Accuracy
<p>Performing a control test lets you know the meter and test strips are working properly.</p><p>Reasons to perform a control test include, but are not limited to:<br>1. You open a new test strip box.<br>2. Your test result does not match how you feel.<br>3. The test strips were stored in extreme temperatures or high humidity.<br>4. The test strip container was left open.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant system fulfills the ISO 15197:2013 / EN ISO 15197:2015 standards.¹</p>
                        Device Settings
<p>The meters will retain the date and time settings for up 40 seconds when the batteries are removed.</p>
                        <p>Test results may be seen in 7, 14, 30 and 90-day averages.</p>
                        <p>720 readings can be viewed and stored in the meter.</p>
                        <p>Yes, the target ranges in the meter can be changed using the device settings on the mySugr app.</p>
                        <p>Being too low is life threatening for people with diabetes. Therefore, red has been chosen to be the colour indicating “danger".</p>
                        <p>The IDF Guidelines are used for the High values range and the ADA Guidelines for the Low values range. In range: 3.9-8.9 mmol/L (70-160 mg/dL), below range: 0.6-3.8 mmol/L (10-69 mg/dL), above range: 9.0–33.3 mmol/L (161-600mg/dL).</p>
                        Connecting to mySugr
<p>The Accu-Chek Instant meter implements BLE Pass Key Pairing security.</p>
                        <p>Yes. Blood glucose results and diabetes data transferred from the meter to the app are stored in the mySugr app. You can view this data when the meter is off and not actively connected via Bluetooth.</p>
                        <p>Yes, at least 720 results will remain in the meter’s memory at all times, despite the transfer of data to an app or online portal.</p>
                        <p>The Accu-Chek Instant meter and mobile device must be within 3 meters for the automatic data transfer to occur. If the distance between the devices exceeds 3 meters during blood glucose test(s), any new meter data will synchronise with the app when the devices are within range and Bluetooth is turned on.</p>
                        <p>The meters can transfer results using Bluetooth Low Energy to compatible smartphone apps like mySugr. Additionally, the micro-USB can be used with compatible diabetes management solutions such as Accu-Chek Smart Pix or Accu-Chek Care.</p>
                        <p>When the meter is paired with the mySugr app, each blood glucose result will be transferred automatically, once the app is opened. However, the meter and smartphone must be within 3 meters to transfer successfully. If the app is not open, the value will not be transferred automatically. However, with the next successful import, all blood glucose values will be imported. There is not any loss of data.</p>
