<p>The Accu-Chek FlexLink infusion set is compatible with the Accu-Chek Combo Insulin Pump.</p>

<p>For assisted insertion using the Accu-Chek LinkAssist insertion device, please follow the instructions below.</p><p>Please wash your hands before unpacking the infusion set.</p><ul><li>Hold the infusion set by the blue holder-cap with your thumb and forefinger and remove the clear protective cover from the cannula by turning and pulling it at the same time.</li><li>Remove both pieces of the backing paper from the self-adhesive.</li><li>Insert the infusion set at a 90° angle.</li><li>Press the adhesive plaster firmly onto the infusion site, ensuring that it makes good contact with the skin.</li><li>Hold the self-adhesive in place, gently press the side clips of the blue holder-cap and pull it from the cannula housing.</li><li>To remove the introducer needle, hold the cannula housing firmly to your body. Using its handle, pull the introducer needle away from the body to remove it.</li><li>Connect the primed tubing to the cannula. Before resuming insulin pump therapy, fill the soft cannula with a bolus of 1.0U of U-100 insulin.</li></ul>

<p>These steps can be used with all Accu-Chek infusion sets which are compatible with the Accu-Chek LinkAssist insertion device.</p><ul><li>Please wash your hands before unpacking the infusion set.</li><li>Push the tensioning element (grey) of the insertion device into its base (blue). The insertion device is now pretensioned. This step locks the safety catch in place, and automatically makes the insertion device secure.</li><li>Hold the infusion set by its clear protective cover and, with the blue holder-cap pointing upward, insert it from below into the opening of the insertion device until you feel it lock into place.</li><li>Carefully remove the clear protective cover of the cannula by turning and pulling it at the same time. Remove both pieces of the backing paper from the adhesive plaster.</li><li>Hold the base of the insertion device firmly in one hand and with the other hand pull the tensioning element out and up as far as it will go. Hold the tensioning element, position the insertion device onto the selected infusion site.</li><li>Slide the safety catch out of the lock position. Press the release button.</li><li>Press the adhesive plaster firmly onto the infusion site, ensuring that it makes good contact with the skin.</li><li>Hold the adhesive plaster in place, gently press the side clips of the blue holder-cap and pull it from the cannula housing.</li><li>To remove the introducer needle, hold the cannula housing firmly to your body. Using its handle, pull the introducer needle away from the body to remove it.</li><li>Connect the primed tubing to the cannula. Before resuming insulin pump therapy, fill the soft cannula with a bolus of 1.0U of U-100 insulin.</li></ul>

<p>In order to help keep sites free of infection, we recommend that sites be changed at least every 2 days (48 hours) for steel needle sets and every 3 days (72 hours) for soft cannula sets. It is important to always check your blood glucose level 1-3 hours after inserting a new set, to make sure that it's functioning properly.</p>
